i listened to Beyoncé’s new album yesterday night and i loved it so much!! my favorite songs for now are “YA YA”, “TYRANT”, “II MOST WANTED”, “JOLENE”, “BLACKBIIRD”… i loved the vocal production, live instrumentation, and rich cultural history in this album. i will definitely be listening to this album again today!

I think it's no secret that Beyoncé puts a lot of artistry and intention behind her albums and this one is no different. The way she catapulted multiple black country artists' careers in one fell swoop needs to be studied.
But when it comes to this album for me personally, I found it to be incredibly evocative from the moment I first listened. I think it's because the subject matter of the album is about healing in a lot of the songs.
I'm currently healing from pretty much my whole childhood and I think this album speaks to my inner child in ways I can't even explain.
Thank you Beyoncé for bringing peace and joy to my inner child because she deserves it.

I have never in my life been a country music girl ™️ and I don’t say this to be not like other Spotify listeners ™️ but more in the sense that I’ve never felt the thrill from pop, the emotion from r&b, the spectrum of emotions from rap, the nostalgic cringe of jukebox theater and the pain/suffering/heart escaping from your chest from theater!! (Of course I’m a drama club person could you not tell!!! )
This is not to say I’m discounting it at all bc these artists are brilliant and talented and gifted!! however we now find ourselves at a fork in the road bc Mrs Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter has me lacing up my boots and affixing my spurs and saddling up into Renaissance II!! Could not be happier and more honored to exist at the same time as her <3

I’m not a Beyoncé stan at all but her new country album is maybe album of the year… it’s kinda like a movie soundtrack or something. Very into it. feels like genuine expression even the 27 songs don’t feel too much. Very cool. if this doesn’t win the Grammy then idk

i know this isn’t a new concept but i went to the movies on my own for the first time today (i saw “civil war”) and i genuinely enjoyed it :D you get to take your time getting ready and when to show up at the theater and you can get your own popcorn… a very fun movie experience (especially if the theater is mostly empty :D)

i’ve kept a journal since I was in elementary school and i love having a record of what was going on in my life at different points in my life, and also noticing how i handled situations and how my thought processes have changed over time. keep a journal! it’s a great way to record your life :)
