My coworkers and I used to joke around that we like to zoom and not talk to each other while we do work until we realized parallel play is actually a real thing and it’s actually my preferred way to work now
I saw another user on this site rec this but she posted a picture of people on their phones. That's not how this should be represented! When I talk about parallel play I mean sitting in bed with my gf, her working on her latest crochet project and me reading with ear protectors on. We don't interact for hours, except for sometimes smiling at each other or either one petting the other for a sec. It's the best part of our relationship. I don't mean to spread negativity, this is just my truth.
I love being around my friends, but I don’t always have anything to say or anything I’d like to do together. Nothing makes me happier than a house full of friends where all of us do our separate activities in silence at the same time. Perfect way to connect and feel love, while still focusing on my interests or goals for the day.
