By David Lynch. I know everyone is mad about it and even he doesn’t like it but I do and since you’ve see the new one, you’ll know the plot so the fact that it doesn’t really make sense in this version wont matter. I love a paired viewing And I think Baron Vladimir Harkonnen in this one is better.

I wouldn’t say it’s a particularly good adaptation or movie. But the visuals and set design are an opulent maximalism that should be seen and appreciated. Lynch made some baffling additions to the story and world that undermine the central themes in the books. On plus side, the practical effects are astonishing, Alia is the unsettling little creep she’s supposed to be, generous amount of worms, the Atreides royal pug, and Sting in a winged codpiece.

David Lynch’s version might be my favorite but I saw pt 2 in IMAX yesterday and it was a lot better than pt 1 imo. I feel like riding a sandworm would be a fun and rewarding challenge 🤠

electric movie. I dont dislike the first one however i dont rate it as highly as others but this is genuinely on a different level. every ten minutes was another scene that gave me goosebumps and was just the coolest shit I’ve ever seen. The guy next to us was wearing like a reflective purple bomber jacket which I don’t think is related to the movie in any way but every time something cool happened he would like dance around in his seat and I love that shit. also i love austin butler I generally see negative opinions about him but I think he rocks and couldnt care less if he talks like Elvis for the rest of his life. feyd rautha is the best new character but all the new cast and returning is incredible and this is overall just an insane movie. love it

Upper East Side. He shouted “I thought it was a Tuesday” on a Wednesday into a flip phone in the early 2000s. He sounded just like he does in the movies 💕

This is annoying advice but love has always come to me when I’m not looking for it. When I get very active in things I’m passionate about (usually leftie organizing but also art and history stuff and also just spending time with friends a la the friends of friends rec) I meet new people and find interesting, aligned folks.

I got my current role by rage applying and it’s weirdly great but still whenever I get mad at it, I either update my resume (I’m only able to boast about my work when I’m mad at my job!) or randomly apply to roles - it gives you a task to focus on and it could end up changing your life for the better.
