So, you got things to do. Items to pick up. Ingredients to buy. Packages to drop off. Sometimes this feels like a chore. A burden. Maybe you don’t have enough time. And you succumb to the sirens of Bezos and Fresh Direct and Door Dash to make it easier. But. But, it’s nice to *choose* to make it not a chore. To take your time and BOP AROUND. To soften up those stiff tote bags. To see and walk and banter (or flirt!) with fellow human beings behind the counter, on the street or in the store. To listen to music or listen to the world as it moves around you. Errands aren't something to get through. There's nothing waiting for you on the other side of errands. Errands are life. You're doing it, you're living. Enjoy them!

I love going to the grocery store with friends. We can chat while we shop, and it feels less overwhelming. There are the days where it’s a whole trip and we get coffee and lunch and people watch, but there’s also the times after work where a friend will stop by and we will both need things from the store, so we just both go and get the few things we need and then go home. Maybe 20 minutes of time hanging out but feels very worthwhile.

Sometimes I recommend being a hater. I’m not here to talk about the numerous quality uses of AI, how often it is actually used nor am I here to critique AI without strawmanning it. I don’t care if I strawman an account of AI because I genuinely despise the way most people use AI. I think AI generated images are ugly. I think that AI cannot hold a half decent conversation. I’m completely avoidant when it comes to showing AI my writing; I’ve never done it and I refuse to. I hate when you go to that one poetry website and there is AI “analysis” there, because its not real textual analysis and it upholds a certain contextualised intentionalist framework of reading a text reinforced in high school English. I hate that the meta AI will influence what products will be advertised to you. I don’t care if it’s the future. I genuinely love being called a dinosaur because I hate AI.
