I never thought I’d actually move to this space. I thought I’d choose something more central in Taipei. Slowly turning it into my safe space while I study here though. 🌹
I’ve been to lots of places that could be seen as “never ever (KSA, Switzerland etc etc) ” but this is the most unexpected.

i was born here but haven’t lived here since i was a few months, before moving back for university. i’ve always wanted to live in an urban area with a lot of young, college aged people, and this is the perfect place for that. there are always festivals, thrift pop ups, art gallery openings, historical buildings and events to go to which i love. i enjoy meeting strange people who are part of various scenes, going to the goth club and spending time with my interesting friends. the public transportation is also great, since i don’t have a car and don’t plan on getting one either.
there is however a very large homeless issue that has been going on for years, and a housing crisis, and even my favourite cheap sandwich place has had to jack up their prices, but what can you do.
i plan on staying here for university and possibly moving away for post-grad, but this place will hold a very special place in my heart forever

it's a couple miles from where I live, I don't know who owns it, accessible by foot down an abandoned road hidden behind a gate
it is away from the crazy and traffic and city and machines —
I walk, wander, sit, lay, and am at last able to breathe
really feels like home

This is what I call it hahahah made by mums everywhere but the greased up version is sold along stalls in Mumbai. Two regular slices of white bread, buttered, and the middle filling is cream cheese with red onions, coriander/cilantro, tomatoes and some minced chillis. All veggies chopped mini cube size so they blend with the cheese. Toasted crispy.
