i used headspace and I meditated at least once a day for about two years (I fell out of the habit because no habit is ever fixed with adhd but I might do it again!). it starts really easy and heavily guided and builds more and more space. I worked for me!

I know a few other apps have already been mentioned and they’re probably all doing about the same thing. the only time in my life that I was meditating successfully everyday for half an hour-1 hour it was after a long run up using headspace. they start with like a couple minutes completely guided and then gradually it gets longer and the guidance gets more sparse until it’s eventually just you doing it.

I have been in the most consistent meditation habit since getting the Calm app because it really takes a lot of the thinking out of it. HOWEVER, there are tons of free resources on youtube and guided meditations released as podcasts. I feel like a big thing for me has been having a good mix of actual meditation and activities that put me in to a sort of similar headspace. A big one for me is going on walks and bird watching. I also find it easiest anytime I can sort of restrict myself in a way (ie im in the bath tub, wearing an eye mask, laying under a weighted blanket) to help keep myself in it.

imo an easy way to get into meditating without jumping headfirst into the whole sitting still thing (very hard for me). and a nice way to get outside! i like looking them up on youtube or using headspace

I used to be envious of people who had “MySpace friends” or “tumblr friends”. Now I have PI.FYI friends. Thank you capyboppy for your lovely letter and this illustration of a capybara and a mouse with fruit on our heads, it made me weirdly emotional ❤️
