I finished reading my book but dont have the next in the series yet so I’m rereading a book from my shelf from hs that I have fond memories of. It’s so nice revisiting books. 16 year old me had such a different experience than 23 year old me is having now and yet I find myself finding the magic of it all and peering through it from 16 year old me’s eyes. also challenging myself to finish this in three days or less, that’s something younger me excelled at and It’s honestly such a good feeling to read through a book and not want to put it down >_<

I bought a book that caught my eye from a bookstore in Boston either as a high schooler or college student. As a busy, unmotivated ex-reader, I could barely get past the first 10 pages.
For at least four years but probably more, I’ve picked up and read the first few pages a few times. It’s come with me to every apartment and most vacations.
I read some books for pleasure last year, the first since middle school, and felt like a baddie. Then I started a meh book and fell off the reading train.
I brought this new book on a trip this weekend and started it over yesterday. It is so good. I just finished it. I knew it was worth taking everywhere. Am very proud of myself :,)

Short Book, Kinda Slop ➡️ Long Book, Challenging ➡️ Short Book, Kinda Slop ➡️ Long Book, Challenging Particularly, I've enjoyed finishing long challenging books I put down 2 years ago and just getting through the last half. The rhythm lets you take a break, gives you variety in your reading, and excites you to finish what you're reading to get to the next book. I enjoy reading a lot, but I'm not particularly good at holding myself to do it. Still though, since March I've read a time travel novella, then finished a book on Medieval medicine, then jumped into a self-help book about cleaning, and am now about to finish up a book on Medieval Executioners. It's a pattern that's worked for me, but of course we'll have to see if it maintains its allure after a couple more months. Nonetheless, three books in 3 months is a faster pace than what I've done in a while AND it's just really satisfying to finish the books I've wanted to for a long time.

Deleted tiktok and finished three books in a week. I should’ve deleted the app sooner. It’s actually so insane how ingrained tiktok scrolling has been in my daily routine. without the app I was just scrolling through the most random apps ever, then realized like damn this is a problem 😭 I miss it bad but I also don’t need it. Twitter is next 🙏 I need to fill my time with productive and fulfilling activities, no more mindless scrolling ‼️
