My mom would always put something out on the table when people were coming over, even if just for a short while, and I’ve always kept that in mind “host” wise. A bowl of peanuts, popcorn, chips and salsa, anything easy. Few ppl will straight up ask for a snack but I‘ve yet to meet someone who didn’t appreciate one being there.
