I think it makes people more excited to participate. I like having games planned where all the requirements are low stakes, “first thing that comes to mind” answers. It gamifies social interactions that might typically stress ppl out and certain themes can make for built in conversation starters. Last time, we put a bunch of prompts into balloons and took turns popping them. I’ve also been wanting try putting truth or dares on solo cups for beer pong. I just like trying to do something different each time and incorporating other people’s ideas and making things memorable. I think you only get but so many opportunities to make something special, so I take pretty much every chance I can get. It was my friend’s birthday last week and I made a huge photo booth because I thought it’d be fun. The idea was “Just Between Us Girls” and we all wrote down secrets, put them into balloons, and took turns guessing whose secret it was. Heard a bunch of stories that probably would never come up otherwise. We laughed, danced, ate mad food. It was fun.

me and my friends play “what’s in my bag?” at restaurants as a silly way to pass time. must have bag, preferably with multiple compartments We also play a game where we all try to rapid fire say the same word. So we all stand around in a circle, someone counts down, and then everyone says a word and then you look hard into each others’ eyes and say things like “I think we’re all on the same page” and “we’ve got it this time“ and then keep saying words until you all say the same one word. Sounds incredibly stupid but is amazingly fun. I recommend doing this outdoors with 3+ people. does this make sense??

I’m not the best at sparking conversations when I’m in a loud room. It sort of makes my brain glitch and i cant think of a single thing to talk about. so, when I’m out with friends, it’s always nice to go to places that have activities. This place had huge sheets of paper and crayons. we were LAUGHING so hard at our horrendous doodles, and it got the night rolling a lot easier. Also they had free popcorn hell yeah.

Arguably the most consistent way to hang out with friends at least once a week. So many venues have them. Activity! Camaraderie! And you usually learn something. Thursday is the best night for this, I think. Gives you something to look forward to other than the weekend.

Remote, cucumber, bag of chips, house keys. Not sure they get anything out of it, but they just seem happy to be kept in the loop.

It bums me out whenever someone's trying to say something but cuts themselves off or says "nevermind" because they assume that they're wasting time. Think it through, or let it come back to you. 3 years ago, I started saying, "Talk through the thought" with my friend, and I think it's made me more patient, and I've ended up hearing/saying some cool shit (or at least some funny shit) that I would've probably missed out on otherwise.
