I present to you my favorite Barbie transformations based on how much the dress and/or the moment made me gasp. In case you want to judge other transformations for yourself, here's a whole playlist of only Barbie transformations from her movies. Barbie as Rapunzel: she said SHIMMER. she said Versace but make it medieval. If Donatella could see this, she would give her stamp of approval. Donatella VERSACE 💜. Also, THE HAIR. Barbie in the Nutcracker: It's pink and glittery and it has sparkles. What else could you expect from a Barbie transformation???? Barbie of Swan Lake: the transformation itself didn't make me gasp but the dress is beautiful and I love the motif of feathers that goes throughout. It could be on the nose for some but I love it. I also have a special place in my heart for that sequence knowing that they utilized real ballerinas to get the animation right, which made me respect it even more. I used to obsessively watch this movie as a kid along with Rapunzel and the Magic of Pegasus. Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus: ruining a man's life by yassifying yourself à la Glinda from Wicked? Yasssss. Barbie in The 12 Dancing Princesses : again, love the dancing sequence and the details displayed in the dresses. They look subtle, yet intricate, especially around the neck area. I love it.

this movie transports me to a different world. but it also has such real feelings of womenhood. there's like a 30 minute ballet seen in the middle and it's crazy. leaves you feeling very empty but it's so damn good.

Sometimes I recommend being a hater. I’m not here to talk about the numerous quality uses of AI, how often it is actually used nor am I here to critique AI without strawmanning it. I don’t care if I strawman an account of AI because I genuinely despise the way most people use AI. I think AI generated images are ugly. I think that AI cannot hold a half decent conversation. I’m completely avoidant when it comes to showing AI my writing; I’ve never done it and I refuse to. I hate when you go to that one poetry website and there is AI “analysis” there, because its not real textual analysis and it upholds a certain contextualised intentionalist framework of reading a text reinforced in high school English. I hate that the meta AI will influence what products will be advertised to you. I don’t care if it’s the future. I genuinely love being called a dinosaur because I hate AI.

When we let go of the fear we hold towards the smallest creatures of our environment, and learn how to immerse ourself in an instance of nature rather than making an instance of nature our own, we learn to truly be alive. Bugs are great because you can’t own them, but you can admire their beauty. #bugnation2024
