* If you’re below the age of 30, live as close to Malcolm X park. That means green/yellow or a stretch red line.
* restaurants: lapis, red hen, , any Mexican food north of Columbia heights on 14th
* bars (in order of edginess): green zone, no kisses, snappys, showtime
* venues: 930 (realistically it’s my favorite venue), songbyrd (I’m biased they’re my friends), black cat
* events/dj sets: anything that happens at suns cinema, hdf‘s mega raves, anything at showtime (biased bc that includes me)

only good hispanic food comes from the food trucks scattered around, the restaurants suck
cafe~ sadly my fav closed a year ago so i dont go out much now but these have been good as of recently
for pastries- fuji bakery, three sisters, morfy’s cakes, mitten sweets & coffee
for coffee- analog coffee, fremont coffee co., cafe allegro(the true OG cafe of seattle)
the lazy cow (both and operate on a pay-if-you-can basis)
biscuit bitch (🤤 not even funny how slutty those breakfast sandwiches are)
stay away from the big franchises and the places that are a little too clean-they bully their baristas, anywhere that uses lighthouse roasters is probably gonna have okay coffee
bars~ i dont go out much but
jupiter (ive got 4th place on galaga rn)
kangaroo & kiwi
blue moon tavern (mostly for the music)
belltown yacht club (just the music)
unicorn (drag bingo tuesdays)
cool hangouts especially in summer are gasworks and discovery park-if u dont bother hitting up the islands then late summer is when the orcas pass the bay and you can watch from discovery
if ur going to the market best time is wednesday like 9:45-11:30 am

I’m just going to list out event series that I️ think are fun in DC:
* the funset at dewdrop inn — it’s like hip hop sunday day party and its so fun if it’s 75 and sunny
* for your pleasure at suns cinema - goofy gay oddball disco DJs in a weird cinema with weird movies in the background
* NGA nights - both jazz in garden and their night dj parties in the national gallery — super fun
* flower factory - gay roof house music party
* petworth porch fest — happens early spring and it’s the best day of the year
* h street fest - it’s usually too hot but it’s really fun
* (self promo don’t kill me) - all your friends at songbyrd. Dj + band indie rock night that I️ throw
* red brick presents - cool shoegaze punk adjacent concerts in cool places (one was in a church!)
I️ can recommend more places, bars, spots too but I️ feel like these are more fun and like are easier to find cool people at
