call me plain... maybe even call me jane... that's not my name... but the statement still stands!
its especially the absolute worst when it exacerbates the feeling of the heat that's coming from plain, non-spicy foods... wish i never had the spicy thing before it, i cannot enjoy my meal now... womp womp :/ i don't even want to think about what happens the next day at the other end (butt end) for particularly spicy dishes...
i would rather taste the food than create mild to severe discomfort for my dear taste buds!!! i am going to nuture and soothe them with milk and treat them sooo good... no hate to the spice lovers out there i am just not a spice Girl!

flora I grew up in a culture where there's at least something a little spicy on the table at all times, so I get the feeling one comes to appreciate spice through exposure. So I'd recommend getting some red pepper flakes or cayenne powder and adding a smidge to dishes that might benefit from a little tingle. I also recommend getting a bottle of authentic sriracha sauce (my go to is Shark brand). It's sweet, tart, and a little spicy and goes well with everything. Especially on eggs. Liking spicy food doesn't mean the spice needs to overwhelm the dish or be painful. You're looking for a pleasant burning sensation the complements the dish. No shade if this doesn't work out for you!

NO F'ING FEAR, JANE. JUST COMMIT. EAT A CAROLINA REAPER--CHEW EXTREMELY WELL. SEE WHAT HAPPENS. IT WILL BE BAD, YES, BUT WHEN THE PAIN SUBSIDES YOU WILL FEEL ABSOLUTE EUPHORIA...TOTAL BUZZ....THAT TWITCHING SENSATION OF WANTING TO DO IT AGAIN...EVEN THOUGH IT HURTS. NO F'ING FEAR, JANE.

flora Valid concern, but it's par for the course; all part of the experience and not that big of a deal. The worst part is if you eat a very spicy chili without chewing it up well (on an empty stomach)....that will make you feel like you're dying...before the buzz comes on at the end. Start messing with mild chilies... it's a positive addiction that can take hold fast and making eating much more fun. REJECT THE BUTT FEAR [a sentence I did not foresee myself typing today.]

respect. but have you tried mild spice? i would be remiss if i didn’t try to put you on. del taco hot sauce. mild ramen. pasta with a sprinkle of red pepper. etcetera. maybe the spicy food in question is just too spicy!

Not every Indian can have really spicy food. Me personally? My spice tolerance would probably be less that majority of white folks. We eat simple food out here yk. It is full of flavour but it is very simple and not too spicy.
