hands down favorite bar in ny. $8 wine, breakfast till midnight, not over exploited/crowded, never understaffed. just crushed chickpea soup and steak sandwich and salad, reading my book, shawty on her way, happy weekend
wild chess scene, ample sidewalk seating, might be the only bar I can think of where itās not gauche to read a book there. normal demographic cross-section (not a yuppie bar). and for god knows why, they put triple sec and campari in all their $7 mixed drinks but itās cash and cheap, you can also byo pizza from down the street.
I actually canāt believe this bar exists. Itās downtown but not Dimes Square, it usually has a live pianist, and it serves steak, a wedge salad, fries, brownie sundaes, good wine and good cocktails, in booths.
my favorite album front to back. just⦠haunting. the eponymous song is my favorite singer songwriter track ever recorded. closing verse on āopen all nightā some of the dirtiest bars ever spit
the range between existential hope and practical despair is what i am most attracted to here
i do my heaviest weight lifting in my nebraska crop top
for fans of the album, have you read āheart of darknessā by david burke? details the albumās place in greater folk history/bruceās arc
