I have never been so obsessed with incense in my life. I have over 30 varieties of Japanese incense but the blue Palo Santo/Copal Esprirtus del Ande is all I ever use now.

Love these little nubs. Take a little doing to get them lit, but to me the smell is heaven.
My parents got some of this on a trip to Santa Fe when I was a kid and would only light it on special occasions like Christmas or when they were entertaining. Because they were so frugal with it, I thought it was some rare ceremonial thing back then and no doubt my love of it is rooted in nostalgia.

Lighting an incense in my home suddenly makes me feel x10 better. Is it just me? The smell, the look of the smoke in the air. I’m instantly at peace, my chakras are aligned and all the sudden I have my shit together. My favorites recently are lavender & sandalwood, vanilla rose & vetiver, loban & coconut and of course palo santo.

Since my teen years I have been clinically ill for two weeks every few months before my period. Full blown mental breakdowns, paranoia, anxiety, aggression and a long laundry list of manic/depressive symptoms that leaves my boyfriend inches from the packing his bags. I took a blood test two years ago that revealed I have a genetic mutation called the MTHFR mutation that inhibits my body from processing folic acid and other important B vitamins. So now I'm a kooky supplement lady that turns into a monster without my methyl guard plus supplement. A lot of women are diagnosed with PMDD every year and told to go on birth control or to take prozac or to just deal with it and it makes me foam at the mouth to think about all the suffering that could be prevented by a simple blood test and some goddamn B vitamins!!!

Underrated music movement from the 60s and 70s. John Fahey, Glenn Jones. Thank you William Tyler for introducing me to this magical world of folk guitar.
