I love to share my things with the people I love. However, minimalist music can be a hard sell. This is unfairly due to the deceptive genre name, and fairly due to the repetitive nature of this genre.
The scope is intimidating— I listen to him mostly on airplanes or while I’m working. It’s worth giving this kind of music an honest shot.
Nobody on Earth makes me feel the way Philip Glass does.

Piano teacher recommended me this album. Incredible vibes -- like stereolab + fishmans + that bjork song with the harp. A ton of great tracks, I epecially like #10 Sjärna -- 7/8 meter, modal AF with a fun gong in the middle. Listening feels like running through the alps and there's hella small flowers. Puts a smile on my face. If you've got an hour, this record is worth sitting down to listen to. P.S. Please let me know if you have the mp3/flac for this!!!

This album…goddamn. S/o to the Herb Sundays substack for putting me onto what’s probably my favorite release of the year so far. It’s a beautiful piece of music front to back; very contemplative, sometimes sorrowful, other times achingly joyful. Can’t quite explain it the way I’d like, tbh. I have a feeling I discovered this at the exactly right time to fully receive it. It’s a good reminder just how context-driven art is.
Moran employed a Yamaha Disklavier for this, which essentially plays a supporting role to her own playing. Per the Warp site: “Moran augments her pianistic abilities by utilising the Disklavier to write intricate piano parts that go beyond human capabilities, resulting in multi-layered compositions that blur the lines between human and machine.”

Literally 99% of problems issues arguments fights disagreements can be instantly ended with this, and often the other person (or the other side of your brain) thinks for a second and goes ”yknow what ya“

oh boy this one is gonna be controversial. first off to be transparent I am a huge nerd and train models for a living. that being said, I was a huge ai hater for a long time and never used it in anything I did.
Then, I started using it a bit for coding, then for research (tool use ftw), then for a whole bunch of simple tasks I wanted to automate but couldn’t w pure code (either due to needing unpredictable input or needing buttons pushed).
Is it super useful, not yet. Should we replace people with it, obviously not. But like dude. You can TALK to your computer in ENGLISH (or french, arabic, japanese, etc.) and it will understand you and respond. I think the like crazy shift in human - computer interaction here is kinda slept on ngl, I fw this heavy now.
