I love this movie so much. i love being from LA and the colors really capture what the city means to me. i also find comfort in being ok with things not working out how you hope they do. powering through and being able to move on is beautiful and so is reminiscing on past relationships/friendships

I love this movie too. For so many reasons. I mean, who knew that Ryan Gosling spent months taking piano lessons so that he could actually PLAY in the movie? Or that Mandy Moore did all the choreography? Having grown up in LA (and knowing some child actors and how tough the entertainment industry can be), there's both a surface love story on top of this movie that ends badly.... and a love story with L.A./Hollywood itself that sits just beneath that surface and is equally wistful. Only Angelenos will really know how emotional this movie is at its very best. I've probably watched it half a dozen times and see something new each time I watch it. Emma is so amazing in this film.

A movie that perfectly defines my multi hyphenate nature. I love it for its faults as much as its strengths. the movie mixes noir, horror, a paranoid conspiracy thriller and lighthearted slacker flick together in ways that donโ€™t exactly mesh well, transitions in tone that can be jarring, all in a package that almost works but never quite does. Like me. I have been such a Mess for a while and still am, and I love this movie for it.
In many ways, itโ€™s the perfect LA movie, following the city and its history, a great 4th film on the unofficial LA history movies of Chinatown, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and LA Confidential. Give this unique movie a shot, they rarely make them like this and you can learn a lot more from mistakes than success.

One of the best LA movies. I pick up a little something extra each time I watch

This movie provides the warm and fuzzy feelings I so desperately need. I also love that it takes place in Massachusetts and there are so many shots of familiar places in Boston. Even though itโ€™s a newer movie, it makes me feel really nostalgic. <3

On letterboxd. Like how do you rate the Virgin Suicides or Killer of the Flower Moon?! So heavy and devastating! Fully sticking to just saying whether i like a movie or not going forward!
