One of my favorite movies from growing up. Gave my music obsessed self unrealistic expectations to what my life would be like and a whole lot of wardrobe envy. Still such a comfort film for me today as long as I don’t think too deeply about the plot.
My go-to since childhood. I love the “going to camp” vibe at the beginning. I love how much I hate the step-mom every time and adore Hallie, Annie, their parents, and Chessy. The music is amazing. It’s simply the best.
any Sheila Heti enjoyers (but also any artist in general) on here should check out this movie by Margaux Williamson (Margaux from How Should A Person Be). It's a beautiful meditation on what stories are and what they can be and how they reiterate themselves across time and it's all explored through interviews with other artists from her area of Toronto. It's also very silly and fun about it. One of my fav movies ever
