📻Keeps me updated on news/current events but I don’t constantly feel like the world is ending. I think part of that is the local stories on new bus routes or the upcoming 5k that are mixed in with all the national and international stuff, and they’re also good about trying to avoid extreme reporting bias. Public radio is my favorite way to stay informed, stay connected, and stay grounded! :D

🙇in the process of moving to a new state, i’ve subscribed to a local outlet (look up your city or county or region & news outlet, or smthn like that, y’all are internet savvy), and it’s been so refreshing and lovely. simply am on the email list rn but planning to subscribe soon.
i don’t think humans are meant to absorb Global or National News En Masse and it‘s made me go through phases of fire hosed infomation, then fasting. tuning into local stuff (which has some headlines from other outlets i can scan for national news) has been really grounding, interesting, & made me feel less Numb To The World. complacency will get us nowhere, and we can’t take big actions on our own either. seeing how we can live in the grey area of small tangible actions in my small tangible community. also into giving ppl money for providing services instead of selling myself for ads is such a relief in the current landscape

⭐I like local news to tune into my surroundings. I really like bakersfiold local news. The music channels play the hits and since we and my roommates are into that shit we like vevo and the jukebox channel

I love this recipe as it’s pretty easy to whip up! All you have to do is roast butternut squash and blend it up with some sage, rosemary, an onion and pasta. I like to make some brown butter bread crumbs for a lil fun topping.

🎥The best way to watch new movies is to get physical movies for cheap! This can be from thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales and nice record stores (reckless records always has criterion collection movies). Paying just a little bit of cash makes you want to watch and appreciate the movie more!
