For all y'all Interpol fans out there, I wrote a long piece about the making of the album for Magnet, the first in which every original band member actually participated (I even heard back from Carlos D although he's not quoted, per his request). I learned a thing or two. And still love this band.

fav losercore song from my fav losercore band (the strokes were losers who willed their coolness onto people. interpol were cool because they accepted their loserdom and didnt pretend otherwise)
i generally dk what tf the lyrics on any of these songs are saying actually but i like the imagery. and also this is what living in new york is like, not the less-than-zero black and white grain of Is This It.
New York is being thrown into a variety of situations and having no language for it. so you are left with feelings that morph into phrases like “she says brief things/her love’s a pony” or “friends dont waste wine/when there’s words to sell” and “will you put my hands away/will you be my man”.
does that make sense? does anything in this city make sense?
anyway: i rediscovered this song a couple of years ago and instantly the music video flashed in my brain. see the photo. it feels like it’s from a kiyoshi kurosawa film (pulse not cure). it changed my brain chem and made me embrace the loserdom that is living in bushwick…i dont know what the obstacle is, but i have a good idea.

Also I took travis scott‘s Love Sick idea and flipped it
As well as used the sample for Hell of a Night
Now I call this song Anora.
I like to think of it as the continuation of Anora
