Going tonight for Essa-Pekka Salonen’s homage to Kaija Saariaho. Tickets to events are so affordable and the programming is amazing this season. I wish I took advantage sooner. All major cities would benefit from making classical music, operas and ballets more accessible.

Also just a rec to go see an orchestra. Went tonight and it’s just so lovely to be amidst music, and see people be so incredibly talented and studied at their craft. A great way to spend a Saturday evening. If you so happen to be in Leicester (lmao) you can get tickets for £10 at De Montfort Hall.

I've been to see orchestras play twice recently at the local concert hall. I got my tickets for £5 both times. I put on a nice little outfit and walked through the park and got a glass of wine and sat down with everyone else and experienced awe!! I am new to classical music and I always come out of it with my ears feeling refreshed. Everything I listen to (of all genres) after sitting through a performance or listening to a whole symphony sounds so much more alive
