truly our greatest living rockstar by any accurate measure of the term. First solo album is 20 years old today. Of itās recording CL said at the time āI just wanted to be a chateau for 6 months and do drugsā so she did (miraval, yes that mirval), with a producer bf named Gollum and all the money she could get the label to front her. She stands by 5 tracks of the 12 and claims no other creative control of the album, era, or likely her faculties. one of the brightest stars in the celestial firmament of messy girls.

courtney love is so fucking talented. itās not a hot take but it needs saying a lot more. this album got shit for leaving some edge behind, but truly I think it maintains all the lyricism & intent of live through this (1994) with an masterful pop sheen, which complements all of its hollywood underbelly vibes. it has its grimier moments and its whispering moments too. i been on this lately

Saw a show last night with a friend in LA (Lola Young, echoplex). relaxed, danced around in the back mostly- got a bit closer when we felt like it. sang our heads off. inception rec- Lola young is a face melter of an artist.
