My mom makes fun of me for this, but I actually think it’s a lovely way to live in the moment when you ’re with friends!!! No retakes, no fixating on perfection. Plus when you look back on them you get to be like “oh yeah!! I remember taking that pic!!!” The lack of instant gratification is good for my overanalyzing 💕

every time i bake a cake for someone (which became my weekly reality) i save the scraps to make a smol test bite. test bites are great! not only for cakes! there is something endearing about taking the time to make a small version of any dish, with all the important components, just to try it yourself before serving to other people. like a quality control

once in a year, on a thursday, there is this national polish celebration of donuts. and everyone HAS to eat a donut. ive been living abroad for a few years now, but every year i line up at this one polish cafe in amsterdam to get my pączki(pl donuts).
i am educating my dutch friends about it and they fucking love it now
