wish i could move to one right now. hate urban sprawl, hate having to take care of a car. i love the freedom it gives me, but why did i financially shackle myself to this metal beast. (it's cuz i was 18 and just wanted autonomy)

used to live in a rlly dense city, you couldnโt go anywhere without a car! so grateful im able to walk to a library or cafe, go basically anywhere without spending a single dollar๐โโ๏ธ

Even though I almost exclusively bike or use public transit, it's really freeing to know it's there if I need it. Super cold day? Need to travel out of the city? Need to hit up Costco? Feeling a little lazy? No problem. (Chicago btw)

why did the US design its infrastructure to be car-centric?!! give me walkable cities and towns with good public transit!

I love doing collages, cuz all you really need are magazine cutouts and glue. There's a very low barrier to entry, skill-wise AND supply-wise, unlike painting. Digital collages are fun too, but I try to have less screentime by doing the paper ones. If I want to re-use pieces instead of gluing them down permanently, sometimes I'll just take a picture of the current arrangement to immortalize it, and then start over on a new composition. That way, I don't have to constantly buy new magazines to get new cutouts. This is one of my favorite ones I've done so far:

I was on the zine team for my college's local student-run magazine last year and it was so much fun! We each got assigned to make a mini-zine that captured the behind-the-scenes process for the magazine photoshoots. My zine was centered on the "Bite The Hand" shoot. The props team 3-D printed a hand to put in a punch bowl & the styling team decorated the models' hair with candy. We had a launch party for the mini-zines & everyone's turned out so good! I've linked the final issue of the larger Strike Magazine in the post here. :)
