I absolutely love it. I was lost after college and stumbled ass-backwards into masonry having only done some construction during summer breaks. It’s an old ass building method, and has artistic edge. When someone asks “what would you have done if you lived in Ancient Rome?” I can say I’d be a bricklayer, and that’s a pretty cool feeling.

I love everything about ceramics. I find that working with clay keeps me grounded and focused in the world. I’ve been working on techniques for pit firing my pieces. Deeply primitive and beautiful

A great summertime game. The scoring system works in the favor of creating Big Comebacks. I play one point for a bag on the board. Three for one in the hole. 21 points to win the game, and if you don’t get exactly 21 you go back to eleven. Yesterday I played against my roommate, and let me tell you, it was a Scorsese of a game. Almost an hour long and some huge lead changes to boot. Get some beer (put it in a koozie for mystique) and go see what you got!

I run through Laurelhurst Park almost every day. I adore this park. They even have a leash-off section in it, so bet your ass dogs adore it, too. I haven't traveled the world very much so I felt hesitant to over state how wonderful it is. I was talking to a buddy who is quite well-traveled and he was like, "Dude, it's a world class park. You're not wrong. Laurelhurst is amazing." So, I will sing its praise. If you're ever in Portland, make sure you check out the neighborhoods on the East side. Laurelhurst is right next to Kerns, Belmont, and Hawthorne — which are all wonderful locations. Plus, Laurelhurst Theater is my home theater, so maybe you'll see me there. $9 tickets. $10 pitcher of Rainier. Cheap soda. Hard to beat. It's cool to love where you live. I love where I live.
