Assuming you are an artist and internally compelled to create. If they're not paying you their opinion does not matter. Biggest mistake in the world to pander to others tastes and interests. Do not compromise for anyone, the only compromises you make should come from what is physically and materially possible for you to accomplish. But if you are getting money for it good for you and you should probably just do whatever they want.

š§®Practising creativity with a sense of giving your audience want they want. Its okay to create in such a way that fulfils your wishes and interests but at a certain point you must realise that the audience matters.
Weāve all been a part of the crowd and have known what weāve wanted to see as a member of said audience. Taste, and the creators habits can only show so much, sometimes you must also joyfully do your job.
Give the people what they want in a way that leaves you fulfilled and excited to experience your own art from the perspective of the audience.

šØI feel like thereās such pressure for creatives of all types to āmake a name for themselvesā, constantly be promoting and using all the right hashtags. Who cares? What if you just wanna make paintings for fun without monetary gain or fame in mind? What if you wanna make youtube videos just as a personal diary instead of becoming a ācontent creatorā or āinfluencerā? What if you just enjoy making logos instead of wanting to be a career freelance designer who spends every waking moment keeping up to date on design trends? Maybe your goal is to make money and become popular for your art, and thatās great, go for it! But I think itās just as valid to enjoy art for arts sake, and not feel a need to worry about posting it consistently and appeasing your followers.

šmake shit because you like it idk also understand that making a consistent liveable income off art is p hard, not in a discouraging way though more of a "i'm free to make what i want because i'm not obligated to do it for anybody but myself" type of way. or instead of trying to be marketable and viewing it as a monetary thing, think of how you can connect and resonate with people emotionally and make that your goal instead. sorry if this is shit advice idk

šYou can find connection with anyone on the street, but the people I actually want to connect with are exceedingly rare. I think it's better to just accept it if you are someone with very specific needs and tastes rather than torturing yourself over the fact that you feel alienated and alone. It also makes it more special when there's someone I truly connect with.
