This morning I went for a walk to clear my head and now I know how a woodpecker speaks and the sound a small magnolia makes when it rustles in the wind. My problems feel a little less significant now.

During a very bleak time, I heard birds sing at 3am. It really uplifted me. Now there is https://explore.dawn-chorus.org/ a sound project that collects and maps bird song recordings from all over the world! The sound recordings are downloadable - at least the ones I clicked on. Found via Recomendo, like these bathing birds - and you think, life can be magical if you pause and listen to nature.

Seriously. Go to a park/lake/whatever nature you got and just sit on a bench. Such a peaxefuo way to connect with your surroundings and get a lil mindfulness in. You can download the Merlin app to pick up on sounds and play I Spy for the utterer, or just rawdog it like I do and if you see someone great, if not there are always more birbs in the sky.
