this is such a cute way to show your friend you know them!! Jeanette Winterson’s Frankissstein is a fab trans- and posthuman novel. Don DeLillo’s Zero K is too (a lot of his contemporary work would probably scratch the itch). Oh oh and Kazuo Ishiguro’s Klara & the Sun!

two twin brothers live on a farm in wales during the turn of the twentieth century. pastoral innocence, familial drama, poetic description of the land. nice reminder of how similar we all are across time and culture. reminds me of a Joyce quote - something like: if you describe your hometown with sufficient detail, everyone will be able to see their own hometown in your story.
