I wore a Fitbit for 12 years, if you can believe it. Flagrantly sharing my bodily data with a tech company who has since been purchased by Google. I know we all carry a phone with us and our cars have trackable GPS. But damn, I want to be less online, less trackable. Why does Google need to know my heart rate (literally how intimate is that)? Also, learning that the recommended 10,000 steps a day was made up by a marketing company… blew my mind. As long as I’m moving my body and taking good care, I don’t need to track my steps.
I finally kicked the smartwatch from my wrist and am getting excited about the time-telling possibilities. Here are two “inner child healing” options I’ve acquired: a pale pink Baby G from Tokyo and a candy necklace-inspired Swatch.
