My life is infinitely better without second guessing stuff. I love just firing off a text, a post, whatever. It's like the opposite of self-censorship.

I tend to be really hard on myself when it comes to creative projects, but lately I've been trying to relax and enjoy it more, and I think it shows in the work. I feel more daring, more invested, more inspired. I find it's a lot easier to spark new ideas when you aren't wasting mental energy fixating on whether something is good but instead focused on having fun. People are intuitive. They can pick up what you're putting down.

I tend to worry so much about what others think that it’s blocking my ability to be creative and live life in the way we were intended to. What I pin on Pinterest, what music I’m listening to, what I post on Instagram, what posts I like (bc my name could come up on the “liked by”) all feels so performative And like each thing I do is very strategic and thought out bc I’m worried it will affect someone’s perception of me. this translates to my art too. Before I’ve even created something, I’m thinking about how it will be perceived when it’s done- will people like it? Is it unique enough? Etc I want to start doing things on account of whether or not it makes me happy, or if I think it looks good That’s why I don’t plan on sharing my picture or name on this account. I like the idea that I can share ideas and thoughts and random things with no physical appearance or preconceived notion attatched All of this is very obvious- like yes I shouldn’t be doing these things for approval and that’s not what these apps were created for. Just something I struggle with and wanted to share
It's way too easy to over-write, over-paint, over-create. Just because it felt easy doesn't mean that it's bad. In fact, that zen feeling of inspiration *should* feel effortless. Don't let your work ethic ruin something good. At the very least, step back before you do more. If it needs more work, you'll know the next time you look at it.

This movie rocks. You could actually watch it on mute and just observe the rich color palette and cinematography but then you'd be missing out on Vanessa Redgrave and Jane Birkin's dreamy accents and also the scene at the end where The Yardbirds play noisy rock to a room of stoic 1960's Brits. Also the wardrobe is amazing, people were really dressing back then.
