I found her for $15 at Goodwill and I was taken by the simplicity and sweetness of her shape and loved the little storage compartment on the left. It took me a while to realize that you can push in the circle on the topmost center panel to lift them up and expose a hidden shelf underneath!
I have a dedicated office space but I use it for yoga and Pilates too so I love that I can avoid being psychologically and energetically terrorized by my work laptops and equipment—this would be a great feature for someone who lives in a one-bedroom or studio and you could use it as a multipurpose working surface!
I’ve been delusionally telling myself that I want to refinish it and line the shelf and compartment with ornate floral contact paper… we shall see about that but I’m happy with it even in its current state. Still seeking the perfect chair at the perfect seat height that sings to me

the outdoor furniture that takes you from sharehouse to sharehouse may have novelty to it in its size and portability but being able to reliably have a whimsical seat outside everyday in the same spot is a magical friction reducing feeling

Dude this is epic and just in time for my most hated relative to visit for the holidays so she has a private room and a bed to sleep on (it folds flat into a sofa bed). If there’s one thing you should know about me by now it’s that I’m an irrational cheapskate when it comes to material goods and if I don’t feel like I’m getting an enormous deal I’m just not interested.
I was already eyeing this Novogratz Brittany futon in persimmon but I found it on Facebook Marketplace in near-perfect condition for $100 which is about 1/3 of its regular price!! very satisfying buy and it’s so small and portable (you can remove the arms and legs and fold the seat and back in half) that it fit perfectly inside of my Subaru Crosstrek 🥹
I like it a lot and would recommend it at full price if you‘re in the market for something cute and cheap for an office or guest bedroom but the only caveat is that you cannot lean back on the arms which is kind of a bummer… so that’s my review.

The whole staff just sang happy birthday to some guy in the kitchen. All the patrons are diner people. At least at this hour. Forks crash into plates and knives scrape butter and jam on toast. It’s the perfect volume. Want to read my book but too content. Want to get pancakes but trying to stay light. Dont want to feel it in my face.

Been on huge memoir kick as I’m currently writing book in the first person. Going to list two here and save this list to come back to.
Always Crashing The Same Car by Matthew Specktor is great book about the guy himself whom I knew nothing about and artistic desperation and ambition focused in Los Angeles. It runs through many stories of The well known and not well known. He would actually be a great person on this app.
The other is the opposite in tone. Just Kids by Patti Smith. A delightful more hopeful and romantic read about similar subject that just makes you feel great to be an artist and like you’re doing everything right. New York and rock n roll heavy. A lot on the Chelsea hotel.
