everything spotify recommends to me is literal dogshit and the prospect of personal tastes being created and catered to by algorithms is grim asf. there is so much music in the world and the vast majority of it isn’t in the Spotify or Apple Music catalogues, much less the stuff that music discovery algorithms and editorial staff decide will actually make it to your ears. music discovery through radio like NTS and Rinse FM, staffed by actual people, is the wayyyyy.
