Curb Your Enthusiasm

I cannot live without my routine of scrolling through Curb clips/memes/full episodes. Larry David’s orbit is so deeply comforting to me. They love and tolerate him even when he’s horrible. It’s kind of how I felt about Garfield the comic when I was a kid. I love to witness a curmudgeon in their safe space to be curmudgeonly. I feel that way with my friends.

(My idea for) how curb your enthusiasm should have ended:

Larry should have been murdered / assassinated by someone from his past. It was the one true way to up the Seinfeld finale— a real missed opportunity. Imagine chaos on the courtroom steps as Larry exits, someone pulls a gun, but he’s surrounded by people who hate him so you don’t know who the shooter is. I picture one of those bird’s-eye view shots over his body as the Curb music starts playing…

My Year of Rest and relaxation

I took a break from reading Absalom, Absalom! by William Faulkner to read this. (I was on a long waitlist at my library for this book, so I had to pick it up!) I knew going in the vibe of the book going in but I definitely didn’t expect the narrator to be obsessed with Whoopi Goldberg and her pussy as much as she was….but all in all it was an interesting read to say the least.
