They’re cool, but I would not spend the money on them right now unless you have a lot of disposable income and then maybe you should donate some of that to a charity. Developers and power users need to use them for a while so that you have a product that is useful to everyone and this really is not in that state yet considering the amount of money they want. There will also be other vendors that will up their standards even more in the next year, so don’t worry about it a whole lot. it’s the coolest thing we have right now, but there’s not enough software support to make this useful to the average person.

meh. the only way I'm going to want a vr headset is if Nintendo collabs with an actual tech company to make one that's fun but doesn't track the shit out of everything my eyes do. And even then, I don't think it's for me.

they will get cheaper, faster, lighter, etc. the external battery will disappear eventually, it’s all part of their upsell. I’m sure they already engineered a model without an external battery that is also lighter, and they are just waiting a few years to get us to buy it like the sheep we are 😎 but agreed if you buy this you are cool as hell

….The Meta Ray-Ban glasses
Look…I loathe Facebook. Like, a lot. But these glasses may be my favorite tech product of the last few years. The convenience of taking photos and video and calls and listening to music on the surprisingly good speakers is just excellent. They look good, feel comfortable and allow me to take photos of things I normally missed in the past because I don’t always have my phone out.
The privacy controls are enough that you can prevent Facebook from tracking stuff. You don’t have to share your data (Unless you use the AI then you’re of course sharing your questions and stuff). The product is that good that I was willing to take a risk and get them.

Sweden's answer to Ray Bans -- free from Luxottica's corrupting influence. they're on the pricey side (i assume bc socialism) but because of that i'm afraid of misplacing them and hold onto them for years. just bought a second pair of Robotniks.

Being a regular
In college I went to the same Mexican place every day for a burrito, got the same coffee at the same Dunkin’ Donuts every morning
Years later im in a new area following the same philosophy, I eat a chicken bruschetta wrap at the same place every time I go out for lunch and still get the same coffee at the same local Dunkin’ Donuts every morning.
I frequent the same full service gas station, go to the same mechanic, Kevin, buy groceries from the same local mart, get my hair cut by the same barber, buy any and all hardware misc from the same little hardware store, Jeds.
When your order gets prepared the second you walk in, and you have a relationship with your daily’s, your life is in a better place.
