nikau he sounds like the coolest guy maybe ever.. envious. If there’s a market for whistling in the music industry and he made an album I would purchase it on vinyl☝️

my oldest friend’s neighbour is this ancient italian man who whistles the most magical melodies while he gardens, full of suspense & silliness & sorrow. he’s soooo talented it’s ridiculous, he should b doing it professionally. i love him 2 bits

started doing this a lot at work lately. very fun, perfect thing to do when i’m waiting for stuff. i can’t like whistle a tune or anything it just sounds like a bird chirping cause i can’t sustain it as i suck the air in which is just how i learnt to do it.
found out today via the linked wikipedia page, there used to be an international whistling convention and silbo gomera is a whistled language used in la gomera, one of spain’s canary islands.

if the Spanish language got one thing right, it’s inverted question/exclamation marks. ¡They are perfect and tell you what to expect from a sentence! I think all languages should adopt them.

I need to take my own advice… I will often meet people and the lovely things about them stick out to me — be it their laugh, the way they wear their hair, maybe a particular piece of clothing — and I really want to compliment them but the words are like peanut butter in my mouth and I can’t spit it out! I mean every now and again I remember a compliment I’ve gotten and am all 🤭 over it. I need to put that good energy back into the world!!!
