I came across What Youth's posts on tumblr when I was a kid and they are actually a big reason why I became a journalist. It's a magazine that produces these beautiful video features of professional skaters and surfers. The one that inspired me most is their interview of Ben Nordberg. It's filmed in a documentary style and totally different from the fast-cut, social media driven content that dominates the internet today. The music choices, the editing are so artfully done and capture the life of this young skater starting his career in Los Angeles. Worth a watch if you want to feel inspired and nostalgic.

His movies are amazing, but I’ve always been obsessed with his short stuff. You can find it all on YouTube!

I think it's really cool watching people who i don't know put so much work and time into bettering their life, that their life (or what we see of their life) becomes an aesthetic within itself. I follow a youtuber/BMXer/Photographer/model called Austin Augie somewhat religiously. He is the epidemy of cool. It practically oozes from him. I have been following him since 2015, and everything he does is incredible to me. His music taste His clothes His substance His studio His STYLE

It’s difficult to write about these because I don’t really have a real name for them, but I’ve found myself seeking out these vibe videos on YouTube and Instagram. What I mean is a 30second or so video of a shirt on a chair, the wind calmly billowing the sleeves, or a shot of a boat tied to the dock, as it sways on the water. Something about these pointless little slice-of-life videos calm me and provide me with just enough dopamine to keep coming back.

hilarious documentary directed by Banksy (!!) that starts out as an inside look into the world of graffiti artists but then accidentally spirals into a profound commentary on the art world. Free on youtube!
