Santa Clara dos Cogumelos in lisbon

My favourite restaurant in Lisbon and also possibly the world!! Every dish on the menu includes an incredibly delicious, seasonal and innovative use of a mushroom (pictured: mushroom ice cream which I literally have not stopped daydreaming about since I last had it in Oct) The vibe is exceptional. There are weird and wonderful mushroom artworks everywhere you look. I think they actually only hire the nicest people you will ever meet to work there. I went tonight wearing my Beastie Boys shirt and they subtly started playing Check Yr Head in full and that sealed the deal that this is the restaurant of my dreams. Go!!!!

UNDERHATED: SOCIAL MEDIA RESTAURANT “REVIEWS”

Not only are they not reviews in any meaningful sense of the word (having a phone and an opinion is not de facto interesting), but the algorithmically selected traffic-driving content is so vapid and devoid of any expertise, soul, and taste. The end result is a dining public that goes to restaurants in pursuit of a homogenized experience—dishes researched, minds made up—and they leave disappointed because the experience didn’t live up to the hype. And how could it?! Taste and palette vary and half the joy of restaurants is being taken care of by skilled professionals who curate an experience for YOU: for your palette, to your tastes, to your sense of value. Foodie social media encourages us to leave that part of hospitality behind and restaurants are the worse for it.

num primeiro momento me senti um pouco resistente em relação ao ambiente desse café recém-aberto na avenida são luís, a poucos metros de distância do metrô república: uma atmosfera de café de construtora, algo que parece um projeto temporário, com a história de prédios que passaram por retrofit expostas na parede, um ambiente muito amplo e pouco acolhedor, diria até que com um certo corporativismo pairando no ar, mas assim que me aconcheguei ao lado do balcão e prestei atenção na música ambiente, me senti mais confortável, e o atendimento dos queridos baristas débora e fábio apenas cooperaram para isso. na minha primeira ida pedi um café latte com leite vegetal, que estava gostoso, um bom café que não perde em nada para os cafés mais famosos da região, e também um suspiro recheado com creme de pistache — desse eu não gostei, achei enjoativo, sem nenhum gosto de pistache e muito caro para o que se propõe, opinião que difere do meu namorado, que foi comigo na segunda vez e adorou a sobremesa. na minha segunda ida, num intervalo de uns três dias, decidi pedir um drinque, já que a proposta do espaço é funcionar também como bar, e devo dizer que, apesar do copo descartável, esse certamente foi o melhor bitter giuseppe que já experimentei: amargo na medida certa, com um frescor e um equilíbrio que, certamente, vem do uso da flor de sal — daria para tomar litros dessa bebida sem enjoar, rs. quero retornar em breve para provar o milk shake alcóolico e também os demais drinques! endereço: av. são luís, 84 são paulo - sp
