I live in Asheville and this area got absolutely smoked by Hurricane Helene. Parts of the area look like warzones. Whole towns were wiped off the map, lives were lost, infrastructure for basic necessities–obliterated. Much of the area is still without running water let alone drinkable water. Officials say the area might not have running water until 2025, drinkable water much later. If you can, donate to Beloved Asheville (@belovedasheville).
