i almost always have "avoid highways" turned on when using google maps so i can see whats goin' on in the city. highways are soulless and i avoid i them as much as i can.
if you've got the time, it's best way to see a sight you might've never seen otherwise. i've found lots of good signs, art, and restaurants this way. makes having to drive somewhere a little more interesting because heck....life's about the journey. β€οΈ
