i love being exposed to topics or conversations i would never go out of my way to look up, and then learning about something interesting and new bc it was playing in the background.

listening to public radio in the morning
It’s nice not to have to decide what music is going to set the tone for your day. I just throw on NPR and let news wash over me, since I’m typically too tired to really pay attention but awake enough that I get what’s going on. And now I regularly say “well, I heard on NPR that [insert either local news or random science fact]”

it features different kinds of podcasts every day n ive learned so many fun (and ofc less fun) things about the world, my city, culture etc! a great substitute for when i get that social media itch
