you must do it right away when you get back from the grocery store. put the whole carton in a bowl of like 75% water 25% white vinegar. let it sit for like 15-20 min then strain and rinse. let them dry on a paper towel then put into a berry basket or bowl in the fridge! do not put back into the original container!!! anyway, it kills all the mold spores and gets off all the little microbes and dirt. the berries last like 100000 x longer and don’t get moldy

Look I want nothing more than to be shoveling fresh blackberries into my mouth and using the juices as blush but in the month of March and, might I add, this Economy (where even at peak berry season last summer it was still $7 for a half pint of raspberries?!) frozen berries are here for us. Not just for smoothies! Use them in yogurt, oats, jam, muffins, all the usual ways. Don’t be pressured by the need to use “fresh” fruit… frozen fruit can be just as nutritious (if not more!) because they're actually picked at ripeness and preserved rather than being ripened using ethylene.
