NYC's cultural peak was obviously the pre-AIDS crisis melange of salsoul/rap/punk/funk/electro/avant jazz, somehow here represented by this monstrous percussion track by downtown ensemble KONK (featuring Richard Edson of Stranger Than Paradise fame)
