I think everyone should do it, regardless of technical proficiency. It's like a little polycule. And like any relationship, it has its ups and downs and lifespan. But there's just nothing like playing with people you love, then sharing how you play together with the rest of the world. Do it! Form a band! Play around! Make noise! Make cool merch and throw yourself a show! Break up! Get back together! Spice of life.

One of the most consistently fulfilling activities in my life. If it wasn't for their encouragement to be less embarrassed about it when I was younger, I would have been too shy to enjoy this simple pleasure and eventually get to play shows (something I could never have fathomed doing at first). It deepens your relationships, makes you a more confident player and person, and it's just a cathartic experience. To anyone out there that literally shakes too much to play in front of other people, I was there once. Try to find your people - there's always someone out there that will help break out of your shell!

everyone should do it, it’s freeing. I could care less about talent and technical skill.

i didn’t even forecast for it or anything, i got randomly chosen to be in band, due to my middle school counselor’s crappy forecasting system. i hated it at first, and i told myself as soon as school started i would leave the elective. but that never happened. years later, and i’ve had opportunities to travel, make lifelong friends, learn how to read music, fall in love with music and everything about it. band is something that has a weird stigma about it and a lot of people are think that it’s for nerds or weirdos, and i was one of those people at one point. but you will genuinely meet some of the best people in a music program, and you already have something in common when you meet them. if you can, pick up an instrument sometime. rent one from your local music shop for a month. mess around with it, find a song you want to learn. you might learn to love it. music is something everybody should have.

My friend and I happened upon this. Meaning, strive to live your life in a way that makes you feel hot. Dress to feel hot. Talk to feel hot. Do whatever you do, but in a way that makes you feel like you're worthy of the love and adoration and crushes and desire you deserve. This does not mean "sexy" necessarily--hotness is always shifting and has many forms. But reach deep inside and you'll find that your own personal method and mode of hotness can always, and most of the time is, an excellent guide.

Kind of a genre of medieval paintings, but confirms to me how horny people have always been and how we've always had to sublimate our desires into the dominant culture. It's so weirdly explicit and bizarre, and has so many layers in how it would have been used: a painting to look at, a page in a prayer book to speak as a script, a physical object to touch and venerate and meditate with.... like imagine people fingering this "wound" and being like, yes this is honestly totally about jesus. Crazy.
