There’s a ton of great heritage down shops operating out of JPN these days, but despite that one picture of that dude on a bike (you know the one), I’m team Nanga. Founded in 1941, they’ve consistently turned out gorgeous product that’s light down and little else. Stockists are relatively rare in the West, so if their take on wispy ripstop and 750 fill suits you, peep either their web store or Rakuten.jp to cop.

Neighbour in Gastown has several stores (Menswear, Womenswear and Home) and they all carry amazing selection of brands. Everything from niche Japanese brands (Auralee, Comoli) to the popular contemporary labels (Our Legacy, Lemaire) or the ultra exclusive (Oliver Church). Not to mention the staff is very friendly and I always drop by the mens store to chat and get recs for local restaurants.

Driving is pretty annoying and most people are terrible at it. Calling somebody a super mean name (ideally not loud enough that they’ll hear you) when they don’t use their blinker can be just cathartic enough to bring the stress levels down and get you through your commute
