i (23) befriended a woman (70) at the local dog park. having graduated college in the last year and a half i’m not used to socializing out of my age group, but i’m really glad we crossed paths. now we go on weekly walks around the italian district, and do crafts together
started the year off right with a three hour conversation with one of my former co-workers turned friend who is probably around my parents' age. went to a funky second wave coffee shop in my hometown and sat on some comfy chairs and caught up. then afterwards, we went to a craft store to look for frames for art she wants to hang up in her home. she encouraged and inspired me so much <3 I cherish her
Honestly, so much more of a vibe to hang with than anyone remotely close to my age. They have the best advice, the best stories, they don’t gatekeep, they aren’t posers or social climbers and have zero ulterior motives to get into your pants.
My best friend is a 93 year old monk and my other best friends are an 80 year old married couple who sing folk songs in wine bars. I like the way they all view life as both a gift and method. I am proud to bring novelty to their lives and pleased that they don’t treat me as such.
