a university near me had a screening of 'rebels of the neon god' earlier today. about 10 people showed up, which was eerie enough in the big room they screened it in (barely a theatre), yet the most interesting part is that the subtitles crapped out for a good 25 minutes in the middle of the movie. how did that happen?! no clue. but frustrating as it was, it was cool to have to focus solely on what was happening visually to try to understand it (but i would've liked it more with consistently working subtitles)
also, it helps that this film isn't heavy on dialogue. something more focused on dialogue would be a nightmare without subtitles.
