Salt little and early, so the salt has time to work its' way into the food. Always keep your knives sharp. Most of cooking is mood-based for me so I'm barely measuring, I balance through taste lol
Oh and invest in sauces and spice mixes. Sometimes you forget that something has no heat and a dash of dried garlic pepper mix fixes it up faster than frantically chopping and stirring in at that late stage.
For your friends, for your family, and especially for yourself. It is art you can eat and a way to feel productive while enjoying yourself. Baking is my mortal enemy though, I always mess something up and ruin it.
Faster than knitting, also easier to learn. I prefer to knit on a machine anyway. With crochet, a lot of the magic is in its flexibility of the stitches. How magical!
