Didn't think I was going to find a movie I liked more than Godzilla Minus One (which was my favorite of last year before this) but Poor Things is an absolute vision and perfectly executed on all fronts - if it's still playing in a theater near you don't miss it.

godzilla Minus One (2023)

I heard great things about this one, and it lived up to the hype for me and then some!
This is not just some over the top monster flick, this is cinema that perfectly uses Godzilla in post-war Japan to talk about trauma, guilt, honor, shame, love, self-hate, the indomitable human spirit, and just how invaluable it is to live another day, when we live in a fucked up world

'The beast' (2023)

simply an amazing film, so much that i've seen it at the theatre TWICE and the second time was even better than the first. i'm not seeing enough people talking about it and both screenings i went to were fairly empty (i was one of four or five people at the first screening i went to) so GO SEE IT! and it's not even my favourite film by bertrand bonello which goes to show that he's truly one of the greats in modern cinema.
