Crazy book written about the coming collapse of globalization and an integrated global economy. Explains why the past 100 years have been a complete anomaly in human history and wonβ€˜t continue.

Did you know "apocalpyse" was originally a term for a type of structured political writing, sometimes satirical in nature? This book is really approachable for how dry the material itself is. Definitely on my must-read list for anyone who grew up scared of Revelations but also does a great job of outlining the (massive, detrimental) effects followers of this doctrine have had on US politics.

this is an almost 900-page book that i was in awe of, a kaleidoscopic view of the climate crisis, set in the near-future. stephen obviously researched and made his best projections about what is coming, and it is fascinating and catastrophic and cinematic. there's a sequence where la is on fire i will never forget; there's a couple of those sequences really. he doesn't engage with whether or not a super ai will save us or destroy us, but i can forgive him. this is a great book.

Not going to be seen, not taking videos to show everyone where you are, where you were, or whatever thing is happening in front of you. Just being there.
