We all know awards season has lost it's ... sparkle the past few years but I truly think it can be revived if they make the viewing experience EASIER. It's especially hard as a Canadian watching but can be just collectively come together to provide a free streaming experience for all?

🎞Before this crisis, we had another one: the global pandemic. If you recall, everything shut down pretty much everywhere…which gave a few film lovers the chance to become film programmers. Using under-the-radar streaming services (like Twitch, but dodgier), several collectives started running daily movie streams. It was a refreshing alternative to going on Netflix/Hulu/Criteria and weighing the options for an hour. Instead of having to pick a movie, you just go to the URL and feast your eyes on the stream. The one I was most obsessed with was Cinephobe, but Cathode Cinema, Moviepassed and SpectacleNYC all gave me much-needed joy, as depression, despair and death colonized human consciousness. A few major discoveries were Golden Mouth, Brimstone and Treacle, Play Dirty and Scalpel. These programmers earn my gratitude and admiration. I think Cathode is the only one still going strong and I highly recommend you check it out.

i’ve actually been so successfully recently though so try it
won’t work really for newer films which obviously makes sense but if you don’t want to pay like £10 for a film that isn’t really on many streaming services then try this and you might win

⭐During the winter, we already have so much to be depressed about. The last thing I want to add to the list is being dry af from the heating. Call me old fashioned but I don't trust the dry heating and would prefer a boiler or a fire place, which I don't have in the home. Enter the hot water bottle. She's portable, keeps me warm, squishy and kind of acts as a weighted blanket if you position it just right.
