Originally recorded throughout the 1970s, but lost to the sands of time until 2004 when Sibylle‘s son passed her collection of recordings onto J.Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. the album was subsequently released via record label Orange Twin in 2006. Baier recorded the songs in the attic of her house while her family slept. This folk masterpiece is beautiful, melancholy and hopeful. Suits an optimistic morning or a rainy afternoon.

Known best for her early work with Wim Wenders, and for her album "Colour Green," Sibylle Baier remains one of the most beautiful and elusive artists of recent times. After giving up a career in the arts in Germany to raise a family in America, her son found old recordings of her music from the 70s and compiled them into a CD album for her 50th birthday for her and all her party guests. Somehow J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr received a copy, and gave it to the execs at the Twin Orange label, where they ended up publishing it in 2006. "Colour Green" remains one of the most hauntingly beautiful albums I've ever heard. It's the perfect album for autumn, right as the leaves are changing.

She was a force to be reckoned with. Finding this hidden gem was a gift. A collection of songs from 1970-1973, released in 2006.

(I am boldly applying this paragraph to the experience of consuming Perfectly Imperfect recs) “One of the characteristics of taste is that it is infectious. The essence of a mesh is that it is a repeating pattern, and although each repeat may depend for its shape on the operation of outside forces — economic, social, religious, political, climactic and so on — yet those forces can only operate on single individuals. And the particularly sensitive individuals who first respond to them become, themselves, forces that affect the whole surrounding area.”
